RESTAURANTS Important Note: Be aware that taxes are high in Ontario. Meals are subject to 13% HST. Factor in a tip and you've added a whopping 28% more to the price of your food! There are literally hundreds of restaurants in Niagara Falls. You can get everything from Indian Cuisine to Japanese to the obvious North American food. If you're down by the Falls, and you don't want to venture out of the tourist district due to time or travel constraints, there are some places that have great food for a fairly reasonable price. Some of our favourites, as well as other local residents we have questioned are as follows: Zappi's Pizza BETTY'S RESTAURANT (Must Drive) FINE KETTLE OF FISH (Must Drive) Personally, I am not a seafood fan, but I've heard from others in the area that a great seafood restaurant is Fine Kettle of Fish . It is not within walking distance to Niagara Falls, but if you have a car, it will take you about 10 minutes to get there from the actual Falls. It's in a plaza, and since it's tucked in the back, it may be difficult to find, but you'll know you're in the right area, because there are several plazas within that particular block Flying Saucer - Home of the $1.99 Breakfast The breakfast food is decent, and the price is right! (I've heard the dinners aren't the greatest). For just $1.99 you get two eggs, toast and hash browns. You can get a side order of bacon for a reasonable price. I think there were four slices on the side order, so you may be able to share it with another member of your group. Check out some online reviews and decide for yourself whether you want to venture into this place. The atmosphere is fun, and the kids love it. The really fun thing about this place is that years ago people claim to have seen a U.F.O. hovering over this location on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls. Later, a Flying Saucer shaped building was built.
