There are literally hundreds of restaurants in Niagara Falls. You can get everything from Indian Cuisine to Japanese to the obvious North American food. If you're down by the Falls, and you don't want to venture out of the tourist district due to time or travel constraints, there are some places that have great food for a fairly reasonable price. Some of our favourites, as well as other local residents we have questioned are as follows:

Zappi's Pizza

It's not just pizza! This is a great little Italian Eatery within about a five minute walk to the Falls. We are regulars to this establishment, which has been in business since 1971. You won't find anything cheaper this close to the actual Falls, and the food is good. If you visit their site, you can even print some coupons to save you even more money.

BETTY'S RESTAURANT (Must Drive)

This is my all-time favourite restaurant, and an obvious favourite amongst locals You will notice this -- as it is quite busy, but definitely worth a wait (if you don't have reservations). If you like simple, home cooking, this is the place for you. Although I have never tried any, I've heard their pies are "to die for."

FINE KETTLE OF FISH (Must Drive)

Personally, I am not a seafood fan, but I've heard from others in the area that a great seafood restaurant is Fine Kettle of Fish . It is not within walking distance to Niagara Falls, but if you have a car, it will take you about 10 minutes to get there from the actual Falls. It's in a plaza, and since it's tucked in the back, it may be difficult to find, but you'll know you're in the right area, because there are several plazas within that particular block

Flying Saucer - Home of the $1.99 Breakfast
(I liked this place, but I've read some negative reviews lately).

The breakfast food is decent, and the price is right! (I've heard the dinners aren't the greatest). For just $1.99 you get two eggs, toast and hash browns. You can get a side order of bacon for a reasonable price. I think there were four slices on the side order, so you may be able to share it with another member of your group.

Check out some online reviews and decide for yourself whether you want to venture into this place. The atmosphere is fun, and the kids love it. The really fun thing about this place is that years ago people claim to have seen a U.F.O. hovering over this location on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls. Later, a Flying Saucer shaped building was built.

REALLY, REALLY CHEAP FOOD FOR THE REALLY, REALLY BROKE TRAVELLER

If you're family consists of some "big eaters", there is a chip truck on McLeod Road, right in front of the Canadian Tire Store that offers some great deals. For instance, the family sized fish and chips is just $16.00 and feeds a family of four easily. We even had lots left over. (Since I've put this website up, I've learned that some people do not know what a chip truck is. It is exactly what it sounds like -- a truck made into a snack bar). The deals are amazing, but there isn't really any place to eat. You'd have to stop by a local park or go back to your hotel/motel room. Still...the price is unbeatable.
